The Pavilion Project

As a part of my second term at De Montfort University, we were set the task to design and create a Summer Pavilion located in the Castle Gardens in Leicester. I decided to base my pavilion around the activity of butterflies and use the pavilion to attract butterflies but also all age groups of people. After several weeks of development I created a pavilion called "The Papillion", a name inspired by the French word for "butterfly", "Papillion" and the word "pavilion" combined together. The pavilion was based around the shape of a caterpillar and then is filled with plants to attract butterflies and activities to attract families.
