In today's seminar for interior design, we were set the task of sketch modelling with only using a piece of A2 paper, masking tape and scissors. We were given a list of titles that we had to choose three of in order to base out models on. The model also had to have a plastic figure either standing in it or near by the model, this helped us practise scale within an interior space.

I based my first model on the words Crumple, Crease and Tear. I tore the A2 paper in half and crumpled and creased it to form an abstract shape. I then placed the figure in various positions.
Another element that was brought into the modelling was using different kinds of light. I used a natural warm coloured light and then changed it up by using coloured light and a projector.
With the projector you could choose various images that could be projected onto the model. I really liked using the projector because it brought an abstract element into the project and combined the themes of light, colour and art together, themes that I have been studying throughout the week at university.
I then began experimenting with a different paper model and using different techniques like ribboning the paper to create multiple swirls. I then stuck the swirls around the figure to create another abstract model. I quite like the outcome of this sketch model because it combines different elements of shape, line and plane, again, elements that I have been looking at this week.
I called this sketch model from the list we were given; Twist, Curve and Surround.
I then used the projector again with different images to see if the outcome would look different compared to my first model. I really like how the projector enhances the paper swirls and almost makes the figure disappear into the sketch model.
