This weekend I went and stayed for a couple of days in Cowbridge, a market town in the Vale of Glamorgan in Wales. Whilst I was there I got to spend a day out down Southerndown Beach, which is about half an hour drive away from where I was staying. The weather started off to be cloudy, but later on in the afternoon the sun came out and weather turned the beach into a glorious landscape.

Surrounding Southerndown Beach are many cliffs that overlook the sea and also look down onto the beach. When driving to the beach you drive along the cliffs and the views are stunning, especially at sunset.
When the sky cleared up it was so bright and sunny. I really like the shape of the clouds and think that they make the picture. They stand out and also enhance the beautiful landscape of the cliffs and the whole beach.
The sky was so blue and the sun reflected off the sea, making it sparkle as the waves were calmly rolling into the shore and disappearing after a few seconds back into the sea.
There were also many beautiful shells hiding away in the bright green seaweed and barnacles.
Along with the gorgeous sea there were also many rock pools around Southerndown Beach, in which many sea life spend their time; including craps and shells with mysterious creatures hiding inside them.
Here is one of the creatures that I found hiding in its shell, refusing to come out for a photo.

Southerndown Beach is a great place to go to in the summer. I would definitely recommend going there for a day out, but make sure you check the weather forecast beforehand! If you do decide to go to Southerndown Beach I hope you have a wonderful time and remember to wear sun cream.
