Roath Park is popularly known for its lake. Walking around it you can see so much life and nature varying from ducks, swans and geese to many interesting insects. You can also hire either a pedal or rowing boat to get a closer look at the lake and come face to face with the birds.
Here is one of many beautiful swans that glide across the river daily. The swans and the other birds are one of the main attractions for the park. Often people come to visit with bags full of bread and bird food to feed them. But you have to be careful or you could be chased by hungry geese!
While walking around the lake I kept seeing flashes of blue fly past me. Soon I came to realise that they were gorgeous, blue dragon flies bobbing along the fresh water. I was so happy that I managed to get a picture of one of them.

I would definitely recommend going out for a afternoon stroll in the gorgeous summer weather and if you're feeling naughty enjoying an ice-cream is always a good way to complete the walk.
